More time

How is it that when a friend dies
 You wish that you could be there 
Just so you could tell them 
How much you they truly meant to you 
There were days we didn’t see each other 
However, you never wanted them gone 
It has you wishing for a little more time 
So, you could tell them 
How much they were loved by you
There is a void in your heart
 That was shared by your friend 
They were the ones you had to argue with
 They were the one that helped put a smile on your face 
You are now not able to tell them how much you loved them 
God came and took you too soon 
The memories that we shared
 Will always be carried near my heart 
They were the ones that helped me become me
 They were the one that kept me going 
Now here I am wishing we had more time
 Just so I could tell you how much you meant to me
 I hope that they knew how I felt
Even though it was never spoken
 However, it was implied every single day 
Now the tears are rolling down for you my friend 
For all that you’re going to miss
Knowing that you’re not going to be there to put a smile on my face 
Wishing that we had more time 
To tell you what you meant to me
 Has me sitting here with my tears
 Hoping that you knew how I felt
 You were a good friend to me
There will always be a space for you in my heart 
You will never be replaced
You will always be my friend forever 
Even though we may have not liked each other a lot of the time
 We were still friends till the end 
Nothing mattered more to me 
Even though you were taken away too early
 You will always be in my prayers
 Forever you will be my friend
 We will meet again one day 
So, we can share our laughter together once again
