If only your eyes could see what I see,
behold the beauty that stands before me.
The eyes of my heart see beyond the years.
I'm drawn to your eyes and there appears
a young woman who took my heart away
and has held it gently day after day
for more than six decades, amazing years
buoyed by joy, unmoved by fears.
Yes, if only you could see what these eyes behold.
The remarkable beauty of your gracious soul.
Few men are blessed as I am today.
I could not have walked life's winding way
unless you agreed to walk by my side.
Without you I'd have no reason to try.
Here, my love, hold my hand.
We will leave our footprints in the sand,
visual reminders that we were here,
that we danced in the morning, crisp and clear,
until, in the distance, the returning tide
could be heard in joyful song.
