Nightfall
I’m still crying deep into the night.
It’s like this every night.
Please, make it rain, so I can go outside
where no one will see me cry.
I want it to rain!
It’s 2AM in the morning
and I still have a drink in my hand.
I don’t want to be this shadow of a man
but the nighttime-shadows call for me.
How I have lived until now, I do not know.
Maybe the morning’s light will shine on me
and I will finally die.
I’ve sinned and chosen to be this creature of the night.
I won’t force you to stay. You’re an angel
but I have thoughts of passion, hunger, and hate.
Maybe, you should stay.
In this, the evening of my night
I need to feel the warmth of your body close to mine.
I shall live until the stars fall from the sky
but I cannot wait for you until then.
Before my next tear, drops from my eyes
I need to bind your hands.
Are you lonesome for me or have we drifted apart?
My heart is filled with pain when I do this.
We’ll stay inside where we can’t be heard.
I’ll be hearing your lies until I hear your sighs.
You have eyes that will tempt any man
and your blood is flowing like wine.
My memory strays to the first night I kissed you.
As I draw your blood let your life pass by
even if it takes forever.
When you return you will run to my waiting arms.
Then, you’ll always be beside me.
What a great day that will be.
You and me forever! . . .
It’ll be like falling in love.

'I’ll be hearing your lies until I hear your sighs.'
great poetry!
around these here parts, we call this a love poem .. because it is undeniably a love poem write the way through until the very last bite .. ❣️🩸❣️
Creepy, eerie, oooh goes bump in the night. I'm envisioning Frank Langella in Dracula ,1979, and a little Everly Brothers "Crying In The Rain". You've set the perfect stage for this fatal encouter, love for eternity. Thank you for this Halloween Treat!
Wow. Powerful.
