Freedom in a Cage

Novarain

Notice of absence from Novarain
Apologies for the infrequency of poems. Life is hard.

Spreading my arms out like it’s freedom

Knowing well that I am still encased within a cage

Feeling the wind flow through the metal bars

And all my experiences

And all of my worthiness

Wisp away slowly

And I hear the people I know telling me something

But I can't really decode

All of their mixed up concerns

Everything around me

Killing my worth slowly

I don’t care about the cage

I don’t care about my body

Or what everything is in relation to me

My recklessness continues everyday

And I’m on display

Closing my eyes and spreading out my arms

Bringing my body to my artificial paradise

Naturally I will always be a little concerned

But that concern will wisp away like the others

When my body decays

And my carelessness is fulfilled

I hope this is an allegory. Otherwise... God forbid this happens in the life of any person.

    Powerful work.
