Shhh!!

SHELLY

I took an oath of silence

Never again will I speak

Sometimes I find myself saying

Things that make others shriek

No more will words pop out

Whenever I feel like it

Whether I'm right or wrong

My mouth will remain zipped

Sometimes I don't control

Whatever I have to say

It may come out rather harsh

When I didn't mean it that way

I am mostly misunderstood

And it tends to get to me

Though I try to be careful

And don't react and let things be

No longer will I talk

About what races in my mind

I will keep it locked in there

Maybe I'll seem a bit more kind
