Echoes of Agony

Serene

Life's been quite heavy these days,
With demons in human guise,
Stealing life, day by day,
In this dark, I've lost my way.

I thought to hide in a darkened room,
Hoping it would be my Serene tomb,
They've crossed their borders, taken their place,
Now in my head, they relentlessly chase.

Once, I felt like shouting, crying,
Now, I'm numb, with pain undying,
Once I owned a life so free,
Now I'm bound to misery.

People around are chasing and living life with zest,
But I'm trying not to lay my soul to rest.
Can't bear the weight to be alive,
When your joy is only destined to deprive.

I search for hope to survive the day noon and night,
Every shoulder I leaned on pushed me out of sight,
Now this path leads to the silent breath,
And to a destination called the death.
