Paper Waves

Introverted Sage

Making my way
With paper and waves.
So much to say
And even more in the way.
Controlling my days.
Could be the tricks the mind plays.
With a heavy heart
Because I let so much stay.
How could I ever lead
When all I’ve ever been is their prey.

Face in the dirt.
Backstabbed and words that hurt.
Blood on my shirt
Didn’t know my own worth.
Is it my neighbors or my own life
I should put first?
Bubble easily burst. Venomous Verse.
Instant or slow death
Which one is worse?
Starting to see a pattern.
Recognize the curse.

Waves of black and blue.
Demeanor gentle or cruel.
Center stage in the circus
Always played the fool.
Who made up these rules?
Dunce hat wasn’t so cool.
My Me being reduced.
Blood from my wounds
Filling the pool.
Gifted a Ruby.
A true pinnacled jewel.

Waves that bring saddness.
Washed away by the rain.
Rewired circuit
Reclaimed my brain.
More waves come in and
Wash away my pain.
Tricks of the trade,
I continue to gain.

Why did I immediately think of the song A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton? "Staring blankly ahead, just making my way, making a way through the crowd"
WOW! "With a heavy heart, because I let so much stay"----isn't that the truth!!! BRILLIANT!!

I find something of my inner waves !
