I know what it’s like to lose;
And I know what it’s like to be lost.
I know what it’s like to watch the things you love fall apart,
And have the things you care about taken away.
And I know what it’s like to feel alone.
So what would justify kindness?
When all you know is hopelessness.
When you understand despair.
When you know there’s nothing left to say.
Kindness won’t leave you astray;
It circles back,
Remembers, and pays in full.
Opens doors once shut.
Holds back the flood from pouring in.
It does not waiver;
Nor does it give in.
It’s poetically just.
It survives.
And it’s calm.
And it’s forgiving.
It’s balanced.
And it’s enough to turn the tide.
All that’s been lost will be returned.
All that fell apart will be put back together.
All that you cared for, you will care for again.
Those wandering alone will be found…
It will circle back.
And it will pay in full.
And it will be perfectly timed,
Perfectly orchestrated,
Perfectly executed by design.
Kindness won’t leave you astray;
Kindness paves the way.
