ONE MORE DAY

Lana Lee

One more day to wake up and begin a
new page in the book,
even though the plot is thick with tangled knots. One
more day to do the next thing, taking a breath, moving forward
each little step to complete the puzzle. Take
rest, my soul. It'll be OK.
Events from yesterday's mess have eclipsed the quest, but I have one more
day to be here,
blooming where I'm planted now; 'cause I've heard it said,
"You're not guaranteed one more day."
