Forbidden Love

Poetic_Carm

In a kingdom fair and grand, where secrets lie,
A princess dwells, her heart consumed by a sigh.
Her family seeks to find her noble suitor true,
Unaware her love lies with maid Alice, too.
Within these castle walls, a grand charade unfolds,
The princess trapped in shadows, love's tale untold.
But behind the palace walls, their hearts ensnare,
For love knows no bounds, no matter how unfair.
Like star-crossed lovers lost in fickle fate's embrace,
The princess hides her truth with a mournful grace.
Her family dreams of weddings, gilded and divine,
Yet little do they know, her heart's love intertwines.
Alice, the maid, brings solace like no other,
Their stolen moments cherished, secrets they smother.
But longing fills their souls, hearts heavy with grief,
Their love deemed forbidden, causing pain beyond belief.
Though Shakespeare spins tales of love, both bright and bleak,
The princess's passion, masks it they must seek.
Trapped in a web of lies, her heart left to ache,
Love's pure essence tainted, promises, she'll break.
Her family's expectations bear a heavy cost,
The princess's true self, forever lost.
But deep within her core, a fire still does burn,
A love that yearns to flourish, undying, won't adjourn.
The princess, bound by duty, wears a somber guise,
Her heartstrings torn asunder, tears hidden in her eyes.
But truth cannot be caged, nor love concealed for long,
Soon, the mask will crumble, revealing what's been wrong.
In this Shakespearean tragedy, hearts shall weep,
As the princess's secret stirs sadness so deep.
Yet hope lingers in the air, whispered on the wind,
For love, even forbidden, refuses to rescind.
