Taken

emmalouise

They say you don’t give to receive,

That never seemed to apply with me.

You took what you could, despite my plea

To not touch me there, I begged desperately.

I was to young to understand, to young to see,

What you took, you don’t take from family.

A child’s pure beauty is what you have taken,

A love for your family that you have mistaken

Your use for me, for your own gratification.

The hair strokes you gave, were not of someone you love,

But instead of someone, you intended to fuck.

You ripped and you tore and opened and pried,

You manipulated my innocence from the inside.

You watched as my eyes wept down red stained cheeks

A pain filled darkness, rushed all over me.

I wouldn’t mind if this was all you decided to take,

But instead you took my future, a cycle I could not break.

See people would tell me, “wow you’re so strong”.

But these people didn’t see me when i was fighting this storm.

They couldn’t see how these memories gave me chills

How I tried to keep them at bay with razors and pills.

How I can’t drive past certain places anymore,

Incase I see him walking, outside of his door.

I’ll never get back what you all have taken,

But here I stand a force still unshaken.

Thank you so much. The world is a fucked up place. You just have to find the beauty in it I suppose 😅
