Painter of the Sky

rhmn_7

There is a painter of the sky

hidden behind the dome so high.

Gently and intentionally,

his brush strokes for my eye,

Sweeter than a child’s lullaby.

Could you create something so bizarr,

bizarr in a heavenly way?

A sky that only reflects the blue sea

not graves nor scorched earth

or other man-made misery?

Who is this painter hiding himself?

Showings his art but not his face?

inspiring everyone with it’s grace,

including humble few poets like myself..

At first sight,

does it resemble a mirage, a fading lie,

or does it reflect the beauty of the painter,

this beauty of the sky...

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visit him?

Wow! How fortunate you were to witness such splendor, and then to capture it in this beautiful verse, truly inspired. The painter is indeed there for our benefit, a lovely homage!
