The Dichotomy Within

Rohan Regi

Love and hate, meant to be opposites,

Yet side by side, they reside,

Like a chess game, black and white,

Boundaries set, though not easily kept.

Love, a realm beyond reason's reign,

It effortlessly captures our hearts,

But to be in love, reasons never enough.

Hate, an easy response to wounds and fears,

A lifetime may seem very short,

Yet, we channel our energy to counter its force.

Though one may take the other's place,

Little do I care for their sway,

For both kept me going, to this day.
