Unfortunately It Was Love

Petrichor of Love

In the noon of my sorrow, my heart does weep,

Amidst the glowing stars, where my dreams did once creep,

Why did our hearts dance and then suddenly stop?

Was it fate's cruel jest or just our plot?

Why did we meet, only to fall apart?

In the ruins of our laughter, I sigh,

As shadows chase the echo of goodbye,

Did we ever stand a chance, or was it lost?

Did our paths cross or was it merely crossed?

Why did we dare to dream, and then lose it all?

Beneath the weeping willow, I cry,

The tears of promises, now left to die,

Was it destiny's cruel, unyielding hand?

Or did we fail to truly understand?

Why did we build a world, and then watch it fall?

On this canvas of my fate, I woefully paint,

A love that left, a heart now full of lament,

Did we ever belong, or were we adrift?

In the ocean of despair, did we shift?

Why did we touch the stars, and then crash to Earth?

In the embers of our passion, I ache,

The echoes of your laughter, still break,

Was it the universe, too vast to bear?

Or did we simply falter in despair?

Why did we light a fire, to watch it wane?

Beneath the silver moonlight, I grieve,

A love so true, I can never retrieve,

Were we ever meant to mend the broken dove?

Or were we destined for the sky above?

Why did we hope for forever, and then let it go?

As I walk this lonely, winding road,

Memories of your smile, in me, corrode,

Was it our fate, a melancholic rhyme?

Or did we lose the sense of space and time?

Why did we find each other, just to depart?

In the pouring rain, I am drenched with tears,

An orchestra of heartache echoed in my ears,

Was it the silence that finally tore us apart?

Or the tempest of emotions, raging from the start?

Why did we dream of forever, and then let it fade?

Among the shadows of our shattered dreams,

In the fractured moonlight's melancholic streams,

Was it a cruel riddle we were meant to solve?

Or were we simply pieces in a game above?

Why did we search for answers, and then lose our way?

In the cold embrace of a starless night,

I search for answers that might set things right,

Were we ever meant to find our souls' embrace?

Or were we destined to wander, in endless space?

Why did we fall from grace, our hearts to prove?

In this endless twilight, I'll remain,

Haunted by the questions, plagued by the pain,

Was it destiny's design, or our fate?

Were we star-crossed lovers, or did we hesitate?

Why did we dare to love, and then let it fly like a dove?

But unfortunately, it was love.

Well .. some people are lucky to have ‘ relationships ‘ because some people don’t have that . Some things just don’t work out and never last
