Shed Your Tears

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

Someone once told me shedding tears makes you weak; lift your head; walk away; turn the other cheek. I was told crying makes you vulnerable, and ugly. But holding them inside made me feel worse. A little lonely. You’re too sensitive; just grow up. Well there came a day where I had had enough. I will shed my tears for the friends who have died. Leaving a void in my heart; too deep to hide. I will shed my tears for the things I don’t quite understand; like wars that hurt innocent children. I will shed my tears for the ones who find their true love; yes I know that’s sappy but it’s a blessing from above. Shed your tears if you have to; it doesn’t make you weak; and when the pain is too much; it’s HIM you shall seek.

  • Comment from author about the poem: 🍀 happy or sad; tears are not a sign that you are weak. Sometimes crying is the only thing you can do that brings a clarity you wouldn’t otherwise find.🍀
