A Tiny Crush

Naledi

I don't know you at all.

I've never spoken to you.

I've heard your laugh.

I've heard your voice.

I've seen your smile.

I catch glances of you in the library.

I try to pack my things before you; hoping to walk next to you down the stairs.

Hoping to start a conversation...

But I get too nervous.

I create the silliest scenarios of us in my head.

Imagining what it would be like if we were together...

Now, there's a 89% chance that you have someone.

And honestly, it hurts me because that means you get to experience all the scenarios I imagine with someone else.

But that's on me.

I'll continue to imagine these silly scenarios, but with light feelings.

Just for a while though.

Because you are only a tiny crush.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Hello! This is my first time ever publishing a poem. I literally wrote it under 10 minutes. I thought It'd be fun to to upload it. It's a quick recap of what I felt when I saw my crush at my college library. Its quite silly, but I honestly had fun writing about it. Hopefully more to come soon!
