She Is

Anne Frances

She is.

She is strong and yet she is weak.

She is strong because she is her own best friend, she confides in herself, she is her own consoler.

Nobody hugs her likes she hugs herself.

Depressed, hurt, happy, sad;

She was her own rock, her own motivator.

Pulled through own her for so many years. Falling apart on the inside but putting on a brave front.

She is strong.

She is weak because even the smallest thing they say hurts her.

The years passed, she grew up blocking all the negatives but the void in her life, in her heart, in her memories, she could not fill.

Momma's boy and daddy's princess they say.

Momma has her boy.

She was no princess.

But who is she?

Do they know?

They think she is weak, of a faint heart.

But they know not, underneath, she is a strong girl with a wounded heart.

    I think this really speaks to the dichotomy of being human - strong yet weak, powerful yet powerless. The one doesn't have to be the end of the other - you can exist as both at the same time. Lovely poem
