In a place I don't believe in.

Chris Duffy

That place I don’t believe in.

When we met you were my true salvation

You tried to change this man over the years.

.You find yourself in prayer and holy water.

And I’ll go find a bar and have a beer.

The long nights spent in quiet contemplation

You quelled the troubled nature of my mind.

Theology, late night conversations.

The truth you seek, I could not seem to find.

Someday when we are parted from each other.

When I’ve  reached my place of deep repose.

When I’ve reached the home you call Nirvana.

When my life is coming to a close.

I’ll make my way to wait for you in places

The place you used to tell me all about.

I’ll look for you in crowds among new faces.

And when I see you in that crowd I’ll shout.

“ Maybe I am lost and merely dreaming?

I’m in the place where I can hold you near

In a place that I did not believe in.

Where love transcends the passing of the years.”

I’m here just waiting for you in the street lights.

In the gentle whisper of the breeze.

I long to tell you everything is alright.

You’lll hear my message echoed in the trees.

I’m in that place I never could believe in.

When you and I were strong and bold and true.

In that place I never could believe in

In that place just waiting here for you..

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Thank you I’m relieved that you got the gist of what I was trying to communicate.

      Kind regards
