Ferryman

jillynmarie

I made it past denial and landed in anger

quicksand all around

we had a history, didn’t we?

we had a bond, didn’t we?

you can’t offer your hand to save me now

ive reached for it

ive begged for it

Ive searched the sky for it.

You thought you spared me pain,

but you stole my piece of mind.

trying to save me from drowning, you took my life jacket and left me floating

the waves threaten to take me down

Beneath the calm surface is chaos

 chaos started it all

the thread gave you life

your fate was determined
the thread was cut

did you have enough to pay the ferryman?

the water pulled me under, no ferryman for me
