THE FORGOTTEN PEOPLE

nephilim56

If you look amongst the rubble
Piece together body parts
You may just find your children
Within governments callous lies.

Kept within a prison
With a sky burning bright
Smoke pillars to the sunset
Then begins the torrid night.

The missiles, shell and bullets
White phosphorus fills the air
Acrid, clinging burning
Skin, bone and hair.

They are the forgotten people
Trapped between politics and terror
Can we not stop the war
Can we not stop the horror ?

  • Comment from author about the poem: Why do civilians always pay the price ? This is a strong piece that some may or may not like but I felt I must put it on site, my apologies if I offend anyone but this is merely a snapshot of the horrors of war.
