The Thief Of Joy

duggantherhymer

Old words of wisdom i learned as a boy
Comparisons are always the thief of joy
Yet those into comparing of people never seem to realize
That above the standards they set they themselves cannot rise
From those into comparing of people wisdom seems far away
This one better than others you often hear them say
On what is their idea of success in others they celebrate
But on so doing inequality among human beings they only help to create
It is not stating in any way anything that is new
That those into comparing of people are not of the few
Those who treat all as equal and people never compare
In the Human World sad to say becoming rare
Of the equality of human beings death the only true friend
Since it makes all people equal in the end.
