the mirror

As the years go by and time unfolds,
A woman walks to the lake she holds.
She gazes upon her own reflection,
Watching herself as she ages with affection.

In her youth, a sparkle in her eyes,
With a vibrant spirit, she reaches the skies.
Her beauty, like the morning sun,
Radiant and full of life, she's second to none.

But as time passes, lines etch her face,
Each moment leaving its gentle trace.
Graying hair and wisdom gained,
She embraces each chapter, uncomplained.

The lake's surface mirrors her journey,
Showing the changes that time can't bury.
She understands life's ebb and flow,
Accepting gracefully, she lets go.

The woman reminisces, as her reflection shows,
Of love and loss, of highs and lows.
But amidst the wrinkles, a light still shines,
Her heart's laughter, a treasure that defines.

With each visit to the lake, she grows old,
Yet her spirit stays youthful, brave, and bold.
Embracing the beauty of her evolving years,
She's a woman who endured, conquered her fears.

So, let us remember this woman's tale,
And cherish the lessons it unveils.
For in the journey of life unfold,
Our true essence, as we ourselves behold.
