Healing

T. Pitts

Like wind you came and went

Blowing through my bones

Leaving me a frail husk

Shattering my stone.

I know I am more than this

And I want to remember a time

When I wasn't worth only your words

And could stand strong by mine.

What hurts most is that I miss you

I miss what could have been

But into the vastness I've leaped

A darkness without end.

I know healing is hardest

When you are drowned in hurt

But it does get better with time

By picking up the pieces, I've learned

You leave some pain behind.
