“Near Death Experiences”
Ought now help point to
The continuation of
A “soul/person” afterlife.

- Comment from author about the poem: “Survivalism versus Corruptionism”, and darn it, which one was St. Thomas Aquinas? Who would’ve thought they would be having this argument today? And who can make heads or tails of it short of our most gifted philosophy professors? From our fellow Christians, many who might not believe in purgatory, or praying to the dead, we see a new film like “After Death” (Angel Studios), a documentary about the evidence of near death experiences. Our beloved Father Robert Spitzer has done a good bit of research on near death experiences, publishing his results in books, and here recently, sharing accounts on the Hallow app as well. If you’ve lived for a while you may have a dear relative, or friend that has passed away from this life and like me, you might be wondering about their everlasting soul now - hopefully immersed in eternal life (God’s Eternal Life with no beginning or end). Sometimes all we can do is just ask questions or we can open our Bibles and pray with the tradition of hope in the resurrection of our bodies. This small Tanka, as a good Tanka should do, in its 5-7-5-7-7 (syllable per line) brevity, just flicks the surface of a very deep and weighty area for further exploration. I hope it gets you talking or thinking or praying, or contemplating or all of the above as one thing is for sure - it is a given - we all will one day pass on from this land of the living. And then, I pray, may we experience with great joy, our soul/person has indeed survived, even without our physical body, finding joy and ultimate beatitude in Jesus Christ until the end time when we will once again be reunited with our glorified bodies. That was like a prophetic message to me after my recent near death experience with bok chow in my windpipe.
Yikes! Thanks for your read and continued blessings from above.
