Toxic

Natalie Heisey

When we first met, I felt so unsure,But time together made me adore. We had our fun, we had our bliss But things turned toxic, I can't dismiss.

You played your games, behind my back,But when I did the same, you attacked. You blamed me alone, for all that went wrong,But the truth is, we both played along.

I stood by you, fought battles tough,Helped you grow, but it was never enough. But you shot me down with your poison's sting,Opened my eyes, I was just a pawn in your fling.

How could you tear me down, bring me to my knees,Shattered all my fucking hopes and dreams with such ease.Leaving my heart sinking, lost in the sea,In the end, it was clear, you never loved me

in the depths of all the heartbreak and pain, I found my strength,Though it may hurt now, it won't be my length.I'll rise above, with a heart that' healed,Embracing love's truth, my wounds will be sealed.
