BATTERED

nephilim56

I will not say death releases
But omit God and crucifixes
I find no sense in celluloid
Gruesome photos pictures drawn.

For the latest and the rest
Ask no causes, find no tests
While children suffered
Government muttered
I find it all too crude to care
In rules and regulations bare.

Of the agonies endured
Revenge too shallow to secure
Not merely names, these children dead
The atrocities must be read
But not in places over dinner
Port glasses lined below chandelier.

  • Comment from author about the poem: An old poem which I wrote many years ago after another child was murdered by those who should have protected them IE parents. Sick of hearing mistakes were made and lessons learnt by those in authority
