Begin Anew

Don't be afraid to start over, because this time you are starting from a different place,

And you are finally realizing that getting it done is not a race.

That this isn't about anyone else, and that you are doing this for you,

And it doesn't matter what anyone has to say or what they expect you to do.

There are people who are going to want to see you fail,

But at the end, you will be standing tall and you will be able to tell your tale.

About the people who tried to bring you down and didn't want to see you succeed,

And how you were able to save yourself because you realized that you are the only one that you need.

That the only thing that you need to survive is the belief that you have in your heart,

And it was something that you always had in you from the start.

But you kept suppressing those feelings because you left other people get in your head,

And you held on to every word that they said.

When they told you that you weren't good enough, when they kept trying to knock you to the ground,

But one day you decided to pick yourself up and to turn your own life around.

Because you realized that you had the faith and the courage to keep going,

And that this whole time you were the one who was preventing you from growing.

You know that you can only blame yourself, but that chapter of your life is over,

And you decided to make your own luck instead of trying to find a four leaf clover.

You now know that it is up to you, and you only, to change your story,

And it is up to you if you end up a loser, or if you allow yourself to live in the glory.

Of realizing that you had every excuse in the book to throw in the towel and give in,

But you knew that if you dug deep enough, you had the strength in you to win.

That it was up to you to figure out how you were going to make it happen in the end,

And that you had the strength to keep going, even if there were times when you were your only friend.

And that you were able to get up and try again and keep going despite the pain,

And you were able to keep going, as you danced through the sun and the rain.

You did it yourself, because no one knew how much you were struggling and what you were really going through,

Because you decided to keep it yourself, and you made sure that nobody really knew.

Because you were falling apart while you felt the need to make sure that everyone else was okay,

But you never knew how you were going to make it through another day.

And you got up and kept going when you though you couldn't take it anymore,

And having to fight everyday kept you battered, and beaten, and sore.

But once again, you survived, like you always do,

And from that struggle, you not only survived, but you grew.

And you finally realized that you need to give it one more shot, because this is your time,

And you were able to get passed that mountain that you need to climb.
