I see you

Nicole Pritchard

I see you
Standing in front of me
Lost and confused
I see all of your pain
You’re trying to hide within
Hiding behind your smile
Though you wear it well
It’s just a mask you’re wearing for protection
I see you
Being on guard all the time
Consumed by all your own thoughts
Causes you to be afraid
To let people, see the real you
I see you
I see beyond your mask
You aren’t wanting people to see
You’re not invisible
You got to trust what i see
I see you
A caring person
Beating himself up over the past
Letting it consume you
You’re willing to brighten anybody’s day
By just being present in their world
Sharing your bright smile
Brings smiles everywhere you go
Can you shed the mask
So, others can see what I see
 I see the real you
 I see you
The real you
 So, toss the mask
Give the world the real you
 I see you
So, will they
