Just like old times

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

Amethyst finally has a day off; shopping she must go. Food in the pantry is running pretty low. The local farmers market has most of what she needs. Another way she gives back to her community. She walks inside and is shocked when she sees; Asher ready to leave. “Asher?!” She says rather excitedly; Asher knows that voice; “it can’t be.” Asher was just thinking of her last night. He assumes it’s a trick made up in his mind. Amethyst walks up to him and Asher is surprised. It really is Amethyst. He remembers those deep brown eyes. “Amethyst is it really you?” He says in a low tone. “Yes Asher . “For the last month I’ve been home.” He kisses her cheek and pulls her closer to him.” “It’s so good to see you again.” “Tell me Asher how’s your family.” She asks; “why don’t we go sit down and talk some where private?” He says;  they head out to their childhood tree house they built long ago. “It looks the same Asher!” “Not even the least bit old.” Asher kept up with it all these years. “A lot of good memories of you are here.” Asher sits her down and fills her in on Agnes and Arthur. Tears form in her eyes as Asher’s life has been harder. He tells her his business is more than thriving! She’s happy to hear this; but that doesn’t stop her from crying. “I’ll do it; she says as she stands up. “Do what exactly?” I’ll take care of your parents while you take care of yourself.” “Your parents already know me and it saves you all the time and money.” Asher looks at her and says; “ I can’t ask that of you; don’t be funny.” “Well you didn’t ask; I’m telling you I’ll do it.” Her good nature Asher can never forget. It would relieve him knowing his parents are in good hands. “Amethyst are you sure;?” “Yes I am.” They reminisce on days gone by. Asher pays attention to every last detail about her; more so her smile. She’s more beautiful today than ever before. She must have a boyfriend of this he is sure.  “It’s good to have you home; I’ve really missed you.”  “It’s good to be home Asher; I’ve missed you too.” Will this friendship turn into more? If you want to know, come back for more!
