Cycles of destruction

caz84

Watching someone self-destruct

Is all I’ve ever known

Raised amid the empties

Didn’t know a happy home

And now I build a world

Un-shameful for my kids

I know that I’m not perfect

But then again who is?

I try to keep their innocence

I don’t want them to see

The things that haunt my mind

The things that make me me

I don’t want them to know

The fear and pain I’ve felt

I don’t want them to see

I want them to be themselves
