DESOLATION

Lana Lee

Don't wish for the dark to return when it leaves,
even if it tried to protect you from the
swelling fires of chaos and undoing. It
overwhelms like a neurotoxin, paralyzing and
leaving you to shrivel up.
Ah, but there is a comfort in
that heaviness, like a weighted blanket.
Indeed. But that blanket may become your burial shroud.
On towards the light, friend! the darkness is
not worth the desolation it brings!
