the Baobab

Katdream

anomalous forest
of swollen stalks
in Baobab stance
delight the eye

wanderings ceased
by fiendish hand
divinely transplanted
so says the myth

honey sweet your fruit
turned dark delight
puckered tartness
on lemon lips

deciduously boasting
of old age
this tree of life
sings at sunset
