Cry me a river

Amalia

I wish to apologize for the tears you shed.

For those tears that paint your face,

When you spend your lonely nights in bed

And your heart becomes a strange place.

You suffer, each hour hopping to be embraced

So your cold body won't freeze to death.

But there isn't anybody. No, not even a hand

To caress your cheeks so you will calm your breath.

And, you see, my precious darling,

I would love to do all those from above.

To make you call me your prince charming

And my stiff arms to be your abode.

But I am incapable of doing so,

For your pretty teary eyes astonish me.

They are making my stone cold face glow,

As you drown in your own deep sea.

So cry me a river, my love.

Let me see pain on your beautiful face.

Amaze me one more time, my dove.

So I will not drift away my gaze.
