CHILD

nephilim56

You will not know me
Yet through your mothers bitterness
You will be taught to hate me
Never knowing how I tried
To be a part of your life
Suffering only rejection.

In dreams I cradle you
In nightmare you are taken away
In cold daylight to realise
How wicked some people can be
My tears too painful to express
Only grief on paper.

So as you grow to adult
The only hope is for you to read
Your fathers words upon a page
And to forgive all cruelty against us
But in some way to be proud
Of a man you never met
Who loved from a distance
For a lifetime.
