Heaven filled with clouds and darkness engulfed the sky
A sense of dread set in and emotions were high
The air felt uneasy, like death in the atmosphere
Then all of a sudden a thick fog appeared
Silence pierced our ears, no sound to be heard
Other than heavy breathing no one said a word
But wind picked up and carried a faint whisper
"I need your help! Help me, dear sailor!
My vessel wrecked, I need a savior..."
Me and my men searched for the owner of the voice
High and low we looked but we had to give up the search
But then a scream erupted from across the deck
One of the men were bleeding from the neck
Bites marked his flesh with a scratch across the cheek
Frightened and in pain the man could barely speak
All he saw was a shadow then came a sharp pain
Still waiting on an explanation when it happened again
A scream accompanied by a splash
Then a whole symphony screeching followed by the ripping of flesh
Chaos followed, it was every man for himself
The death toll were climbing to twelve
I needed to find an escape and soon
Or a bloody-watery grave would have been our doom
I did what I could but there seemed to be no end
The fog only seemed to continue to expand
Hope was lost and I accepted our fate
But then through the fog pierced a bright light
Civilization was waiting, salvation was in sight
To this day it remains a mystery
What could have caused all that death and misery?
Rumours spread of sirens others say the crew went mad
What ever it was it left fifteen of my men dead
I'll avenge their deaths one day although, when I can't guarantee
But I'm certain I'll never go back to sea
