Letting You Down

FallingAwake2

I guess I’m still trying to make you proud…

Trying to commit to all that I vowed,

Trying to feel your light with no cloud,

Trying, but my thoughts are all too loud.

Humble, you displayed peace and grace,

Masking demons with a composed face,

Memories of your kindness, I cannot erase,

Compared to you, I’m aware of my disgrace.

On defense, agitation and attitude have grown,

Until my rage emerges, and tantrums are thrown,

Boiling over, forgetting all that you had shown,

I’ve become so hostile; you just wouldn’t condone.
