there will be wonderful word-play

that will reduce readers to tears

that will make them belly-laugh

at the dry wit and humour.

 

Next week I'm gonna write a poem

that blends the nostalgia of childhood holidays

and the hopes and dreams for the future

that we all share.

 

Next week I'm gonna write a poem

that will wander lonely as a cloud

and compare thee to a summer's day,

if you can keep your head.

 

Next week I'm gonna write a poem,

actually, I'm rather busy for the next week or so.

If I don't get round to writing it next week,

I'll hopefully do it the week after.
