When a love one passes.

David Wakeling

Life does not go on when a loved one dies,
It ends .
It ends forever.
Gone is the light from my eyes.

The life that happens after is a shadow, a fraud.
Oh we pick up the pieces of broken glass,
And shout loud into the storm of our despair,

But glass won’t go back together
It just resists with sharp cuts into the memory.

Can the dark black gods of loss ever cease,
Can they return my love to me.

My prayers sink into the deepest well.
And alone I must navigate my hell.

Strong words David. My wife of nearly forty years died and one thing that I did was remember the love that she had left behind for me.
