Wisdom revisited.

David Wakeling

“Know Thyself” (Plato)

Know anything but thyself.
There is no greater despair than to
realise your mortality.
To find out you are an insect.
No it is much better to deny thyself.

“I think therefore I Am” (Descartes)

To think is pointless in this world.
Stumbling monkeys at war with each other.
Don’t think about it.
Life is about feeling not thinking.
I feel therefore I am.

“To thine own self be true” (Shakespeare)

Lie to yourself. Tell yourself you are beautiful.
To be true to your self is torture.
The world is built on fantasy.
To thine own self be false.

“Love they neighbour” (Jesus Christ)
We are alone. There are no neighbours.
Apes fighting with each other.
Hate they neighbour as he surely hates you.

Wisdom is a long warm bathe
It is comforting until it makes you laugh.

There is no greater joy than to know my reality.
