I Can't, I Can

I can't write poetry,

From a place on high,

I can write poetry,

From a place where happiness deny.

 

I can't write a poem,

When the sun shines bright,

I can write a poem,

When it is darkest of the night.

 

I can't create words,

When all things are well

I can create words,

When I feel a mere empty shell.

 

I can not pen a verse,

When it is a happy art, 

I can pen a verse with a broken heart.

      It's just if I'm happy I can't, but when I'm sad particularly when I've had my heart broken it's more I need to write.
