The Poetry Champion

Tom Dylan

Notice of absence from Tom Dylan
Sorry if there is a delay in replying or if I'm away for short periods. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon says, life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.

I want to be the poetry champion of the world

winning all my bouts by way of knock-out.

I want to be a second Dan black-belt in poetry

with stanzas that can break wooden boards.

I want my poetry to win the Super Bowl, the World Series

and World Cup, scoring touch-downs, home-runs and hat-tricks.

I want my poetry to climb the highest peaks of Mount Everest

and then sail around the world single-handedly.

Actually, I'd be happy if I managed to write a poem every now and then

and if anyone actually read it.
