Homecoming

Katdream

Ghostly, crumbling refuge
Void of life and laughter
Yet, lures you in...
Shepherds you down shadowy halls
Hearth fires ablaze in darkened rooms
Uilleann pipes heard in the distance
Announce your arrival
All gone but a vision in your mind's eye
A sound, a smell, an emotion...
A prayer whispered for their safe return
Yet, no one comes...
Still...from the window you peer
