Masks

Nicole Pritchard

Feeling torn with all the faces
That must be worn in a day
Is very exhausting
Is there a face that is truly mine
Not a mask
I have to put on for the day
Does this person have a name
Which they are are called
Are they a pigment from the mask
That they had to wear
 Is this person even real
Each mask has a different title
How is it placed throughout the day
Without collapsing with exhaustion
From wearing so many different faces
 For the world to see
None of them are real
Who is this person
Behind all the masks
 That is the real mystery
 Who are you
Come out and show me
Who is behind the masks
I would like to meet you
