The Alchemist's Fire

Katdream

the alchemist slaves in chambers dark
caldrons licked by flames of desire
gestate the mundane to noble metals gold
or so the desire of these conjurers daring

transmute, transform, traverse the ordinary
the Great Work conceived by raging infernos
stone of the philosophers born
as phoenix rises … reborn, renewed

life eternal achieved by co-creators hands
mystical methods carry out this sorcery, this summoning
contemplating prospects in aporetic reasoning
as sulfuric potions lie in wait to purify and rectify uncertainties

the alchemist fails but never abandons
his fire the medium, the process, the power
light to the mind, and sustenance for the soul
the Magnum Opus renewed
