My Little Boy

My son
My little boy.
I’m sorry mommy took so long to end this journey.
I wasn’t ok
I taught for years and your dad and the whole family supported my tears.

I promise to do better,
I will work less and focus on the best
It just makes me sad to think about the past
But the love never stopped, you were always imprinted on my chest.

Gabriel your laugh I could listen to for hours
Beautiful like a flower,
It’s your dark inside jokes as you get older.
You are so perfect
My little twin;
It just makes me happy how we are so much alike despite our skin.

Funny, smart and kind
All these words that I can use to define
My little boy,
My only Child,
I love how you can be so wild.

It’s four AM and I’m thinking of you
Three years to ten
I never want this to end
Thank you Gabriel for being my son
I love you so much
And never forget that you have a healing touch.
