What is a kite without its strings?

jamiehiggins10

What is a kite without its strings?
Being pulled down to reality so it doesn’t give up and flee
What is a person without love?
A simple reminder of why we are here and how we were created

The wind blows the kite away almost strong enough to take it away from me
But I will stay holding on
I will not let it go, no matter the reason
There is no way I can give it up

The kite is so high in the air,
She is free and feels the wind against her hair
She can leave but if I let go for just a second
I may never be able to get her back

Just a second, let her be free
Take the pain away
Make her feel as light as a bird
Take her pain away

Two kites are in the air, close enough to feel each others presence
The wind is so strong
Trying to take the kite from my possession
But I am holding on

The two kites become one

They are intertwined

Stronger, they are together

My hands get tired and I need a break.
I let the string unravel my fingers and in a second
Less than a second the wind blows the kite so far away from me
I regret letting go, letting the wind take over.
The wind stops and the kite is stuck high on a tree, needing to be rescued.
Like a cat stuck in the tree.

I get the kite back in my hands. The kite is not the same
There are tears and rips
I won’t be able to be high again, feel the wind against my skin
I could repair it but it’s useless
I could sew it but it’s broken

Let me just replace it,
The second copy will be better
The original wasn’t good enough
It was just a waste of space

Sitting in my empty garage
