I wish I could take it back

M.T.G.

Words
harsh as knives
leave my mouth before I even have a chance to think
They cut into her and blood trails down her cheek
Her eyes widen and fill with the injurious look of betrayal

Only when she has turned around and left
Do I notice
That the trails the knives left on my own tongue
Drew far more blood than she lost

I like it, I'm not 100% sure the metaphor of knives left on your tongue works, but I do understand your intent behind it and you manage to communicate your message well. Keep writing!
