Milanka

zeraprinc

I still remember her shy look
and the smile with which she captured my heart
on our first meeting,
when she only spoke her name,
"Milanka."

Second meeting and unskilled acting,
"Oh, where did you come from? I haven't seen you."
My smile, her lowered look,
silent admission that she was ashamed.

I don't remember how many times
on a day that was hellishly hot,
I passed through her empty street,
just to "accidentally" meet her.

Her surprise, and my acting,
the third meeting and invitation for a date,
even though she radiated pure naivety,
her every move was like a flirt.

A long walk, nervousness like a child,
a stolen kiss just at parting,
her arms around my neck as approval,
this thief was lucky then.
