DAD

nephilim56

Tears have now subsided
I stand in silence alone
Photographs fill my mind
My soul without a home.

Cold stone in my vision
Angled, free of time
A vacuum surrounds me
With these thoughts of mine.

So many years since your death
And I have now grown old
Yet you were young when you passed
My father, ill and bold.

I hope you enjoyed my success
My failures you forgave
For I am just a man like you
Now stood beside your grave.

A touching tribute to your Father. The passing of years may soften the grief but the love and the missing remain. Nicely conveyed emotion.

              perfectly summed up, thanking you

I can kinda relate , but I lost both of my parents for a different reason they couldn't take care of me so I was taken.

so sorry to hear that Lil, I hope you are coping with that as well as can be expected. I am so glad you commented, loss can take many forms but mean the same thing
