Concealment

Katdream

camouflaged behind a veil of discontent
imagining encounters
unyielding to petty jealousies
or tragic regret
thriving in preemptive pleasures
and licentious wanderings

yet no journeys begin or end
while the shroud lingers
no fantasies bring pleasurable reflections
or contentment to those who conceal their dread
broken souls harboring dreams not dreamed
never detected in their solitude

self-destructing vestiges
crying out for attention
while locked within impenetrable mind prisons
cloaked so as never to feel
hidden in a nightmare of solitude
unseen, unheard, undone

The poem moved me and drew me in. Thank you for unveiling such hidden thoughts and feelings that we often conceal, even from ourselves.
